As a Community Care Assistant with AQS Homecare you will play a vital role in the lives of our service users by allowing them the choice of remaining in their own homes surrounded by family and friends.
Our experience in providing care shows us that it is not necessary for you to have previous experience of care as our Skills for Care training will be given to you before you go to work. Support is always available from your Mentor, Senior Carer and Branch team who are always there to lend a helping hand or advice.
Roles and responsibilities of a Community Care Assistant
You will be expected to travel to service users homes in your local area and therefore will need a form of transport together with the required license. You will receive a generous travel allowance.
Your responsibilities may involve:
Personal Care - Assistance with transferring from bed to chair or chair to bed, washing, bathing dressing and where necessary, help getting to the toilet.
Assisting with Medication - Once you are appropriately trained you can assist Service Users with maintaining their medication regime
Household Tasks - providing assistance with domestic tasks such as hoovering and dusting around their home and/or preparing meals
Running Errands - supporting our service users to get out and about, getting shopping and prescriptions
Companionship - providing company and treating our service users with dignity, respect and compassion.
